\"Jobs<\/a>The butt of many jokes and a lot of stress in the recent past has been the economy and the unemployment rate.\u00a0 It was feared we were beginning to slip in our own \u201cgreat depression\u201d for a moment there.\u00a0 Good\u2019ole American ingenuity pulled through though!\u00a0 Now yes we\u2019re still in a slump when you compare the economy to the moments before the recession hit.\u00a0 You can\u2019t fail to recognize the good news we\u2019ve been receiving on a consistent basis though.\u00a0 The most recent jobs report from January 2012 was the bearer of even more good news for the economy and those looking for jobs.<\/p>\n

Employers in the month of January ramped up their hiring in the month of January.\u00a0 With all the hiring, employers were able to bring the unemployment rate down for a fifth straight month.\u00a0 Something a few economists weren\u2019t predicting as hiring always ramps up for the holiday seasons but once January roles around, seasonal help is let go and things slow down.\u00a0 That didn\u2019t happen this year though.\u00a0 Not only were 243,000 jobs added in January but that number is actually higher than the month of this past December, which saw 203,000 jobs added.\u00a0 That\u2019s some great news for the economy and us.\u00a0 The private sector actually saw a significant gain in hiring as well as they added a total of 257,000 jobs in January alone.<\/p>\n

With all these jobs we saw the unemployment rate drop down to 8.3 percent which yes, is still a high number, but it\u2019s still the lowest we have seen since February 2009.\u00a0 Economists had actually forecasted only 130,000 jobs would be gained in January while they also predicted unemployment to rise up to 8.6 percent.\u00a0 It\u2019s good day when you saw thank goodness the experts were completely wrong.<\/p>\n
