You certainly would not want to be looking at $250,000 homes if you want to keep your mortgage payments under $500 per month. The loan term is the length of the mortgage you are applying for. Common loan terms include a 30 year fixed rate, 20 year fixed rate and a 15 year fixed rate mortgages. The borrower will need to respond to a series of questions about their current situation.
