WHY WAIT 365 DAYS, WHEN YOU CAN CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS IN JULY?

christmas-in-july-ideaA fun alternative to a traditional summer  backyard barbecue is to have a Christmas in July theme party!  The holiday season has been months ago and a foggy memory of all the good times so now is the perfect time to break up with dog days of summer with Christmas in July. Bake your cookies hang the mistletoe because it is time to get creative with these fun idea:

  • Send Invitations: Send your friends and family a formal invitation to your party. Jazz it up and have fun with you. You can pick a theme (how about Christmas related) and implement your theme into your card design. There are great websites that you can request invitations cheaply and easily (no need for an expensive designer!).
  • Get Decorated: Get out those Christmas totes you have packed away in the attic and start decking the halls!  Have a husband? Get him on the roof with some lights and put him to work. This doesn’t have to be just your  event, get the rest of the family involved and have fun with it.
  • Plan a Menu: While that hearty stew might be great for Christmas in December, for this even we may want to take a different course.  Start with Hawaiian themed menus and go from there.  You may choose to have a Jamaican theme for your Christmas in July event.
  • Wrap Gag Gifts: Unless you have more money than you know what to do with and can afford nice presents for all your guests, then break out the dollar store gag gifts (who doesn’t need a new loofah and back scratchier anyways). Wrap a gift for each guest and have fun with it. Perhaps do a  white elephant exchange and watch Grandma steal from her grand kids!

It’s never too early to get into the Christmas spirit, and now you can celebrate more than once a year. Wish your guests “Sea Sun’s Greetings!” and kick back to enjoy a warm and merry Christmas in July!
